Philosophy of teaching
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea that students construct their knowledge by building on what they already know in a supportive, collaborative environment. I create an atmosphere where students are engaged and interact not only with me but also with their classmates. Strategic activities that support this type of learning environment are ones where students are given choices and opportunitites to be self directed and autonomous in their learning. Through the work they produce and our class discusions, students are held accountable of showing the different concepts they have learned.
