1998-Present National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies Tasked to increase media placements by 15% over the previous record year, I increased media placements by 52% and increased news releases by 49% over the previous year. Developed comprehensive public policy advocacy campaign plans. Mastered the issues and helped to craft and manage federal and state advocacy messages to shape regulator and legislator opinion. Wrote timely localized speeches for national and international speaking engagements by the chairman, chairman-elect and vice chairman. Received five consecutive merit pay increases and five monetary bonuses for outstanding performance of duties.

1996-1997 The American Legion National Headquarters Led proactive team engaged in issues management and focused on accomplishing strategic advocacy goals. Intimately familiar with the national legislative/lobbying process. Worked closely with retained PR counsel, Burson-Marsteller. Managed an annual budget of $.5MM. Developed and implemented strategies to raise public awareness and shape opinion to further advocacy goals, using a variety of print and electronic mass media.

1994-1996 Hudson Institute Conducted all media relations activities. Emphasized long-range, proactive planning and the placing op-eds in elite newspapers. Developed the first comprehensive marketing plan. Managed an active speakers bureau. Managed employee communications for 75 employees at five locations in the United States and abroad. Wrote and edited Hudson's publications. Had additional development and special events responsibilities.
